Many school communities are affected by cancer – teachers, parents, students and families. Hosting a mini Relay For Life is an opportunity to connect your school to support the 2017 Sutherland Shire Relay For Life and raise vital funds for Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) and to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
A mini Relay For Life is an opportunity for your school to host a Relay event on school grounds or a nearby park/field, during a weekday/lunchtime/or sports activity time where students can walk around a designated track or obstacle course, or participate in your own outdoor activity as a school group or in class groups. The fundamentals of hosting a mini Relay is to educate students on healthy lifestyle choices and being active to prevent the risk of getting cancer, while also raising much needed funds towards the fight against cancer. Your mini Relay can be held in conjunction with classroom educational activities to promote and bring awareness of Cancer Council prevention messages.
For more information, download the Invitation Letter (CLICK HERE) and the Mini Relay Flyer (CLICK HERE) which details how to host your event. For further details, email Rashmi.Naran@nswcc.org.au or phone 9334 1601.
Every Relay For Life begins with an Opening Lap to celebrate and support cancer Survivors and their Carers. All Survivors and Carers are welcome to join in—you don't even need to be part of a team. We hope you can join us.Register for the Survivors and Carers lap
